These are informal meetings for people with an interest in algal taxonomy. We will make collections across a wide range of habitats during the day and examine the algae and socialize in the evening. We will set up microscopes in the conference center, a new addition to the research located in the Trout Lake Biological Station. The space has lots of power outlets, and kitchen facilities. Lodging at the station will be mostly in the dormitory, which is a short walk away. Cabins at around $10/night. Lodging outside of the Station is also available.

Bring food to pack your own field lunch. Can use kitchen in the dorm or your cabins. Multiple places to eat nearby. We are thinking about providing breakfasts and one group dinner (with a small donation), but details are not worked out yet. BYOB. Let me know if you have special dietary needs.

What to bring: 1) Microscope-if you have one that can travel. A couple of microscopes will be provided. 2) Field clothes, change of dry clothes and waders, boots, or shoes to get wet in. 3) Sampling bag (if not--sampling equipment will be provided), 4) Other supplies (taxonomic keys, extension cords, camera, lunch bag/box).

I will be sending out some sign-up forms soon to those who email me with their interests. For questions or concerns please contact me, Bob Pillsbury.
