The Environmental Change & Aquatic Biomonitoring Lab at Mount Allison University (Canada), will hire a Postdoctoral Fellow for a 2-year position.  Project aims include: 1) use of sediments to understand trends of dissolved oxygen and algal production at strategic lakes, 2) development of models based on bioindicator-environment relationships, and 3) advance lake health and management within this iconic transboundary watershed.

The ideal hire will have:

  • PhD in Geography, Biology, Geoscience, Environmental Science, or related discipline
  • Expertise in studying: lake sediments, bioindicators, water quality, and/or stressors of lake ecosystems
  • Record of publications as first author relevant to paleolimnology and/or aquatic science
  • Ability to work well with others, problem solve, communicate clearly, and think independently
  • Field experience in sampling lake sediments and water quality

The successful hire is expected to:

  • Contribute to project development and lead its execution, including the 2025 field campaign
  • Co-publish articles and communicate project results
  • Engage with collaborators and project partners
  • Mentor BSc and MSc students in their research activities
