Diatoms of North AmericaDescription: The diatoms.org project website has plans for new features. This presentation will be a demonstration of improved abilities to search and filter for diatom species. First, users will be able to set the website to focus on marine, freshwater, or all species. Second, users may filter based on species size, length, width, striae, and all of the attributes currently contained within the Autecology tags. Third, users can download .csv files of the text content from any of the searches. Finally, we prioritized faster loading of pages to maintain the site’s responsiveness as the content grows. This seminar will be an opportunity to view the planned features in the development version of the site and offer feedback on function before, the features are implemented for public view.
