  1. Valves large and >25 µm wide
  2. Striae <12 in 10 µm
  3. Proximal raphe ends expanded
  4. Central, ventral areolae irregularly spaced

Valves are large and more than 25 µm wide. Both striae and areolae are less than 12 in 10 µm. Proximal raphe ends are expanded. The areolae on the ventral side of the central area are irregularly spaced. A stigma or stigmata are absent.
